He's too pretty for one. And while he's proved he can sing and proved he can doa ccents his voice is not right either, it's just not emotive enough. I could have fallen asleep with his performance in Corpse Bride.
Depp would be far more suited to the White Rabbit, the Cheshire Cat or the Catterpillar, but this is entirely the wrong role for him.
I would have cast Johnny Rotten from the Sex Pistols myself. It's just the right balance of ugly, uncouth and bonkers.
