Wooden Wolf by RohanElf Wooden Wolf by RohanElf
This thing is 2.5cms tall = TINY!!! That’s 1 inch tall!! (he looks much better at his actual size instead of blown up this big too!)

Its for my Replica Bella Bracelet (which I have now re-made since the last one made a run for it and escaped my clutches!!) I need to put a hole through this little guy to put a ring through him to attach him tot he bracelet, so I thought Id take a photo of him now incase I manage to split him in half or something trying to put a hole through him!!

I’m actually pretty damn proud of him considering I have NEVER tried to carve anything out of wood before, and also considering I carved it from a stick I found in the back yard with a Stanley Knife (two things you should never carve from and with!)

Anyway I MAY have another go at it in future, but for now I’m pretty happy with myself! The only mishap was me taking a huge chunk out of the surface of my thumb nail, I managed to stop the knife before I hit anything important or that bleeds... but it was my fault considering I was carving towards myself thinking "I am SO going to hurt myself doing this!!!" but I also knew I wasn’t going to stop till I DID hurt myself because it was working too well other wise :P :P

This will be chucked in scraps in a couple of hours me thinks...

lol Sorry about the whole almost getting yourself cut thing xD

Its awesome to see that I'm not the only person attempting this. I myself am new to wood carving and so much all I've managed to make were a couple of 9 inch tall statues. None of which I have finished mind you. >.>

Anyways, yeah. The whole reason I even wanted to start carving was cause of Jacob's wolf charm when I read the book way back when. The only thing I lament is that I wont be able to get it in anything close to a reddish color cause we don't have any of those kinds of trees here on this tropical island.

I'll still try though. Nice Job and thanks for more or less of an idea of how I wanted to make it.

Any details would be welcomed and appreciated. Except for the five months of carving, my ideas on painting or color changing are zip. :3

The easiest way it to get some acrylic paint watered down and let it soak into the wood, OR you can go to a hardware store or the like and get a small tin of wood stain in the right colour.
