(accidentally cut one side of the 3rd photo off! Sorry!)

My friends and I decided we were going to dress up Gothic-Victorian to go see 'Dorian Gray' so I had a whole costume in my everyday wardrobe already (typical :shrug:) but I decided I wanted to make a bustle to go with it (and this way I can also wear it with my tutus and jeans :D)

Never made one before, never even tried to bunch fabric or anything, I kinda just made it up as it went along... Cut and Hope as I always say :P no patterns, just Cut and Hope ;)

Took me about 5hours all together...

I will take a photo of me in the costume (I also have a black lace parasol and boots to go with it too) when I put it all on :)

Looooove bustles! I want one ;o; but...my friend told me that they were originally for preventing "unexpected visitors" because people didn't wear underwear?! Maybe I'm thinking of a different time period. I dunno if it's true but it's pretty funny ;p

Very very possible though Ive never heard that :) as far as I know they were to keep the skirt from dragging and to make the waist look smaller
