Such Is Life

For the first half of the year in Art I had to do a painting basing it on a famous Australian artist. You could use their style or you could use their idea. I picked Sidney Nolan and used his idea of Ned Kelly as a subject... especially because I'm quite obsessed with the Ned Kelly story

It's in acrylics/air brush/white pencil on large mounted canvas, and if you're wondering, I had to take the photo of it side on because the stupid flash kept reflecting off of it as you will see in the documentation of its progress.

The writing is little bits that mean something to me from The Jerilderie Letter (which is a 8,300 word statement). It reads:

"Dear Sir, I wish to acquaint you with some of the occurrences of the present, past, and future... I began to think they wanted me to give them something to talk about... And that Fitzpatrick will be the cause of greater slaughter to the Union Jack than Saint Patrick was to the snakes and toads in Ireland... and yet, remember there is not a drop of murderous blood in my Veins... and I am called the blackest and coldest blooded murderer ever on record... I am a widow's son outlawed, and my orders must be obeyed."

Ummm... what else to say? ...I got an A+?? lol
