A slow-speed painting (if that makes any sense 
) meaning I did the same thing I do when I speed paint (aka used acrylics instead of watercolours and didn’t outline n stoof) but took my time...
ANYWAY, this is Lyra and Pan (in moth form) on the rooftop of Jorden College, from Northern Lights (His Dark Materials by Philip Pullman) when I painted this I was a little over halfway through the first book and an UTTERLY ADDICTED!
WHY is there no serious illustrations round here of it? Like the kind you get of LOTR and occasionally of Harry Potter? WELL I'm gonna change that!!!!! So HA!
At this stage there had been n mention pof her eye colour (it was in the next book) so I had wanted her to have gold eyes. Oh well.
p.s her square jaw is intentionally square. I imagine strong characcters to have strong jaw lines... im a bit weird like that...

This is closer to my idea of Lyra than anything I've seen before, including the film version (where she's wya too old.) Nice work!
